The lake at the centre of Yelagiri offers rides on pedal and manned rowing boats. The lake is surrounded by a beautiful garden, with a children's park & play area. A good place to spend your first day in Yelagiri

"The Nature Park" is a 10-acre garden well maintained with beautiful landscaping for a pleasant experience. The park is a rainbow of stunning flowers during the peak season. Other attractions in the park are an aquarium, an artificial waterfall, a musical fountain, etc.,

At 4,338 feet, this is the highest point and popular trekking area. Most visitors to Yelagiri Hills, who have trekking in mind, often climb up Swamimalai.

It is an easy trek along a muddy path starting from the lake, which is about 3 km long and pretty scenic too. The Swamimalai temple on top offers beautiful views of the countryside.

Near Punganoor lake a Herbal Farm is being maintained by the forest department, where rare herbs with medicinal values are grown for Ayurvedic and Siddha medicines.

Dedicated to Lord Murugan, the Velavan temple is again on a hill top and offers splendid views of the landscape below.

Every year during the month of July the people living in Yelagiri Hills celebrate the Velavan temple festival, which is a special attraction for tourist visiting during that period.

The second biggest solar observatory in south Asia is situated in Kavalur, 65 km from Yelagiri. You need permission to visit the observatory.

The River Attaaru runs through the valleys of Yelagiri Hills, and flows over at the village of Jadaiyanoor to form the waterfall. It's a great spot for a day-long picnic.

Hogenakkal Falls or Hogenakal Falls is a waterfall on the river Kaveri. It is located in the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu, about 150 km from Yelagiri. It is sometimes referred to as the "Niagara of India".

With its fame for medicinal baths and hide boat rides, it is a major site of tourist attraction. Carbonatite rocks in this site are considered to be the oldest of its kind in South Asia and one of the oldest in the world. A separate one day trip from yelagiri is worth visiting.

This temple is a spiritual park situated at the foot of a small range of green hills in a place known as "Tirumalaikodi " in the city of Vellore about 70 km from Yelagiri . This was inaugurated on August 2007. The salient feature of Sripuram is the Lakshmi Narayani temple or Mahalakshmi temple with Gold covering located on 100 acres of land. A separate half a day trip from yelagiri is worth visiting.
